Parikrama, one of the finest Indian rock bands to emerge in the past 30 years, was formed by brothers Rahul and Prakash Ramakrishna. The band has been a pioneer in the Indian rock music scene, having experimented with a wide range of genres that cover progressive rock, hard rock, funk rock, jazz fusion and Indian classical music.

Parikrama has been recipient of multiple awards and accolades and has played at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals around the world including the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Wacken Open Air in Germany, the With Full Force Festival in Germany, the Woodstock Festival Poland, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands and the Metropolitano in Argentina. The band has released 7 studio albums, the latest being ‘Till We Drop’ in 2015. Their live performances are legendary and not to be missed! They do not release their music as albums available for purchase, instead encouraging fans to download it from their website and other platforms. They also rarely record in studio settings, instead preferring to debut new material live and record it in the same manner. On being asked about plans for releasing a full length album in an interview, they responded with "make your own album, the way u want it". Their songs have been massive hits on Indian radio and college campuses since the mid 90's to the present day, and they continue to enjoy a large and ardent fan following among Indian youth. Their influences include Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Rush, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Genesis, and Pink Floyd.

The band has been included in the Rock Street Journal's list of "India's Greatest 50 Rock Bands of All Time", and The Hindu called them "one of the longest-standing and most popular rock bands in India". The Times of India has called them "one of the most popular rock bands in India". In 2015, they were featured in the list of "21 Bands That Deserve More International Recognition" by Noisey.
